Where's My School?!

June 6, 2011 - The first day of classes began. I was a bit late that Monday morning because of our Davao trip (which I also planned on writing about but didn't have time). I was just told (verbally) to start teaching there because there's an available position or slot and they badly needed a teacher. So, I started teaching there for 2 weeks.
The school's name is Rizal Integrated School. It's still an Integrated School because it depended on the Elementary School. The Principal or the School Head of the Elementary School is also the Principal of the High School - thus, Integrated School. The HS also has no classrooms yet. Wonder where we do our classes? Well, the first year students were given one classroom from the ES. Then the second and third year students share the "social hall" (seen above). It's a pitiful situation because the students' voices and the teachers' as well are like fighting just to be heard.

The school is doing it's best to make funds for the classrooms. They were planning to make a "Make-Shift" classroom, that is made of nipa, just for temporary use. And I hope this time it will be carried on.

June 21, 2011 - I received a text from a staff in the Division Office telling me to come immediately to the office. I was late (again) to arrive because I received the text very very late. The text message was sent at around 11am but I received it by 3pm, and I was told to come at 3pm. So I hurriedly went there wishing that the Superintendent would still want to see me. Unfortunately, the Superintendent has gone already. So I was told to come back the next day.

I went back the next day, and this time I was able to talk to the Superintendent. He signed my "Order" saying that I would be teaching at Manapa Integrated School as a permanent teacher. Permanent Teacher! I was feeling very excited already. I was also told to complete my requirements like the NBI Clearance, Drug Tests, Neuro Tests and the like! I don't want to enumerate all of them because it's too many. I finished all these requirements (with the help of Maam Venus Rallos) on the same day but it was already 5pm. So, we decided to pass these papers the next day.

The day of the passing of requirements came, the staff checked my papers, then she told me the sort-of-bad-news. According to her, the School Head/Principal of Manapa IS came to her and voiced her concern regarding her school. In Manapa IS, they don't need another English Major, like me, because the teacher that will be transferred to another school is an Araling Panlipunan Major. So, they only need an AP Major. They already have a lot of English Major teachers there in Manapa IS.

This news really made me sad. The staff then told me to wait until Monday for further news because she will talk to the Superintendent again. She will text me on Monday (tomorrow, June 27) if ever there is already a news on where really is the school that I will be teaching.

Soo...I'm expecting a text message from the Division tomorrow and this time, I will be ready and won't get too excited anymore. Maybe the school assigned to me won't be that exciting...haay!
